Screenshot Your Boarding Pass And Important Stuff Before You Leave Home

Travel Style: Ocean Cruises

This is one of those tiny travel habits that’s saved me more times than I can count. Cruise terminals are notorious for spotty service, app glitches, and log-outs right when you need your barcode. Screenshots solve all of that instantly.

What I screenshot

  • Boarding pass
  • Luggage tags
  • Passport photo page
  • Excursion confirmations
  • Travel insurance
  • Dining reservations

I like to throw it all into a “Cruise Docs” album on my phone so I’m not scrolling through dog photos trying to find my boarding pass.

Bonus travel-agent tip

Take a picture of the muster station card on your stateroom door so you always have it.

Cruise-line behaviors I see a lot

NCL: App refreshes often at terminals.
Carnival: Sometimes logs people out unexpectedly.
Royal Caribbean: Barcodes take long to load inside concrete buildings.
Disney: The app frequently resets.
MSC: QR codes occasionally regenerate.
Princess & Celebrity: Usually smooth, but screenshots still prevent surprises.

It takes five seconds and removes the stress completely.
